Southampton / SeaCity Museum

Based at the heart of Southampton, SeaCity Museum tells the story of the people of the city, their fascinating lives and historic connections with the Titanic and the sea through three interactive exhibitions: Southampton’s Titanic Story, Gateway to the World and the Southampton Stories exhibition in the Pavilion.

Southampton's Titanic Story

The most famous ship in the world, the RMS Titanic, pulled away from White Star Dock in Southampton at the start of her maiden voyage on 10 April, 1912. More than 500 households in Southampton lost at least one family member when she struck an iceberg and sank on 15 April. This exhibition tells their story.

Gateway to the World

Southampton has unique historic connections and the Gateway to the World exhibition recounts the stories of people who have departed from or arrived in the port of Southampton over the last 200,000 years with themes of invaders and settlers, traders, exiles and soldiers.

Southampton Stories

Southampton Stories focuses on different aspects of the City’s history and culture, covering topics such as the docks, ships, working life, sport and leisure, wartime, and daily life. Displaying ship models, maritime ephemera, photographs, oral history stations and much more.
